But, how do we do this with just math? EASY!!

We know how to multiply two fractions... Right?

So, just make both things be fractions. Check it out:

1/3 x 6

1/3 is already a fraction...

But, what about the 6?

Guess what? We can write 6 as 6/1.

Think about it:

6/1 is the same as 6 divided by 1... which is 6!

(You can do this with any number!)

Back to the problem:

Just what we figured!

What about this?

2 3/5 x 3 1/7

Yikes! I sure don't want to try to think about pizza for THIS one!

Let's stick to the math:

Again, let's change these into improper fractions and go for it!
